JCHS HOMECOMING 2019

CLASS COMPETITIONS

 BEST SIGN CONTEST

You know how the crowds display colorful, witty signs in the background on ESPN’s College Gameday telecasts on fall football Saturdays? Well, if they can do it in places like Starkville and Tuscaloosa, you KNOW we can do it better in Dumplin Valley! Each class should have ONE SIGN displayed in the front of their section at the Homecoming Pep Rally to be judged on creativity, originality, and school spirit. All signs should be POSITIVE, and no vulgar or hateful signs will be allowed. REMEMBER: ONE SIGN PER CLASS!

 CLASS FLAG

THE TRADITION CONTINUES!!! Each of the grades in PATRIOT COUNTRY will develop and display their own flag during the Homecoming Pep Rally to display their commitment to THE PATRIOT WAY. Each flag should be no smaller than a twin-size sheet, and should have the following information represented on each flag: the class graduation year (for example, Class of 2020 for the senior class, etc.), something to note that it IS from JCHS, and any other appropriate information related to the homecoming theme, school spirit, THE PATRIOT WAY, etc.. Flags will be judged on style, beauty, and pride shown in the work. ALL FLAGS MUST BE HAND MADE--NO “MANUFACTURED” FLAGS! Flags must be ready to hang by the beginning of the Homecoming Pep Rally. TO HELP IN THE HANGING OF THE SHEETS, PLEASE HAVE SHOWER CURTAIN RINGS PUT THROUGH THE TOP OF YOUR SHEET. Each class should take down their flag after the Homecoming Game.

 DRESS-UP DAYS—9/30/19 through 10/4/19

Each day, 1st period teachers will take a head count of those who are properly dressed for the day’s theme, and turn in those counts to Dr. Cagle’s office on the main campus and to the main office of the Patriot Academy (all seniors who have off-campus college classes 1st Period can come by Mr. Cagle’s office at the beginning of 2nd Period to be counted). The highest percentage of each grade’s members who dress according to their theme will win the day’s competition, as well as those points for their class. NOTE: All dress code rules must be followed!
